LGC Staff Continues to Grow

The Lowcountry Graduate Center (LGC) is growing in programs and staff with the recent addition of Steve Barry, Technology Manager, Nakisha Scott, Administrative Assistant and Chris Duncan, Marketing Coordinator.

 

Barry is responsible for maintaining distance education equipment and directing and receiving distance education classes. He also troubleshoots computer technical problems and provides technology assistance to faculty, students, and staff. Barry analyzes and recommends hardware and software upgrades for the LGC, while working with the on-site Librarian to research trends and implement instructional technology practices.

 

Barry graduated Cum Laude from Trident Technical College and obtained an associate’s degree in Industrial Technology and Radio and Television Broadcasting. He has worked as a technical director and audio-visual technician for ten years at WCSC-TV5, and previously served as a Public Health Technician at the U.S. Air Force base in Charleston.

 

Scott performs general office reception and clerical duties, and assistance to faculty, students and staff. She also leads the customer service functions at the facility.

 

Scott is an experienced Administrative Specialist and was most recently employed at Trident Technical College, where she adapted and implemented Disney’s Customer Service Model. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Limestone College.

 

Duncan coordinates theproduction of various marketing communications, including, but not limited to newsletters, program brochures, print and radio advertisements. He represents the LGC at various outreach events and fairs. He is also responsible for coordinating and writing original promotional materials and news releases. 

 

A graduate of the College of Charleston, Duncan earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Spanish. He was recently employed by the American Red Cross where he served as Public Support Associate, working in media relations, event planning and fundraising.

 

In addition to their primary functions each will have responsibilities with the College of Charleston North Campus.
