Urban and Regional Planning Program Launch - May 6

The Lowcountry Graduate Center will host an event on May 6 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the launch of the new College of Charleston Urban and Regional Planning Graduate Certificate program. The event will provide an opportunity for individuals to learn more about the certificate, including program curriculum and admissions requirements. Ron Mitchum, Executive Director of the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments, will also speak about the importance of urban and regional planning in the Charleston area and the skills that are needed to do planning well in today’s environment.
The Graduate Certificate in Urban & Regional Planning will serve local professionals working in urban and regional planning and related fields. It will provide advanced graduate training to develop the competencies required to address challenges facing the Lowcountry concerning development, growth, and preservation of quality of life.
The
Lowcountry Graduate Center was created to expand opportunities for graduate education in the
Charleston region, thus fostering economic growth and workforce development in our community. Working with its partnering institutions, the
