Founded in 1842, the Military College of South Carolina, The Citadel, is located in Charleston and is noted for its educational reputation and rich history. To meet the needs of local residents and businesses, The Citadel offers graduate degrees and certificate programs, hosting around 1,000 students attending classes in a civilian evening and online format. While separate and distinct from the South Carolina Corps of Cadets in its operations, the Graduate College retains the institution’s core values of Honor, Duty, and Respect, and its commitment to developing and equipping principled leaders.
The Citadel Graduate College offers 31 degree programs and 25 graduate certificates, with classes offered in the evening (and, in some cases, online) to accommodate the professional schedule of non-traditional students. For the 9th consecutive year, The Citadel has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 public college in the Southern Region – with offerings up to a master’s level and is currently ranked at No. 2 overall in the South when private and public institutions are combined.
