Temporary Closure of Lowcountry Graduate Center Due to Irma

Due to Hurricane Irma, the Lowcountry Graduate Center, in accordance with the College of Charleston, is cancelling all classes and events on its North Charleston campus, beginning Friday, September 8th, through Tuesday, September 12th.   The facility will be locked at 10:00 p.m. at the end of Thursday evening classes, September 7th, and not reopen until it is safe to do so.  Information regarding the reopening of campus facilities will be provided at a later time and will depend on recovery efforts.  Students in graduate classes taught at the Lowcountry Graduate Center are being notified by their respective institutions and instructors.  All such program directors have been notified.

After 12 noon on Friday, anyone on the campus will be considered illegal.

For updates, please continue to watch for email and text alerts from the institution in which you are enrolled or teaching and monitor this website as well as the College of Charleston’s emergency website (emergency.cofc.edu).

The Lowcountry Graduate Center, with the College of Charleston, encourages all faculty, staff, and students to begin evacuating as soon as possible in order to avoid possible traffic delays this weekend as the hurricane approaches South Carolina’s coastal area.
