Founded in 1896, South Carolina State University has maintained a legacy of excellence in education. Located in Orangeburg, S.C., SC State was founded as a land grant college with a mission of providing education and service to the citizens of the state.
The College of Graduate and Professional Studies at SC State comprises of 11 degree programs and two graduate certificates. SC State University is the only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to be ranked as an over performing college in the U.S. and is ranked No. 29 among national public HBCU’s by U.S. News & World Report.
